December!

We've had another very eventful month in December! Rudy and I got the chance to take a trip to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas with our friends, Tanya and Kelly. It was great! We stayed at the Mirage and got to go to the rodeo that Friday night. This trip might have to become a yearly tradition!

We came home from Vegas and hit the ground running with all sorts of holiday activities. The kids had a great time helping me decorate the house for Christmas.

They both had parties and school, and Melanee got to sing in the Children's Choir at church which was really special because they did a song with the adult choir, and her "Paw" sang, too.

Another cool thing was that at Melanee's school party, there was a delivery from the North Pole! Letters back from Santa directly to the kids, and they were still cold from the trip! She was so excited!

Well that's about it for now. I'll post more after the big day. I wish all of you and your families a special and fun-filled Christmas!! Love, Shelly

Locks of Love

Well, we finally decided to get Melanee's hair cut. It was somewhat of an agonizing decision, and I'm not sure everyone has forgiven me yet. But, we did it! 10 inches later, and some sweet child that needs it will be getting some of Melanee's hair. She decided to donate it to Locks of Love. All in all, I'm very happy with her decision. Her shorter hair is cute and quite a bit curlier than before. I guess having hair down to your bottom can weigh it down a bit. Plus, it was much easier getting ready for school this morning. Here are the pics we took to document the event!!

October - A Very Busy Month!

We had lots going on this past month. First of all, we had Bridgette and Kevin's wedding. Melanee was in charge of greeting guests and passing out programs. It was a beautiful ceremony at Friedens Church in Washington, TX and the reception was in Brenham.

Next, we took a trip to Dewberry Farms in Brookshire. That was great, but very hot and crowded. The kids had a great time picking out pumpkins, riding rides, and playing. However, we did wait in line the majority of the time! We were worn out, but it was worth it.

Finally, we had Halloween and Homecoming on the same day. Melanee got to wear her first homecoming corsage to school. Then, the kids dressed up as pirates for Halloween (along with several others.) We went to the Fall Festival at the Waller Baptist Church and took a little hayride with friends. Then we went home to pass out candy to other trick-or-treaters. Even though it was very busy, this is still my favorite time of the year! It is especially fun to share with my kids!!

Welcome To Our Crazy Life

Welcome to our blog. Because you are here, I'm sure you know us, but I will introduce my family anyway. My name is Shelly. I am married to Rudy and we have two great children: Melanee, 5 and Blaine, 2. We lead a very busy life, but we like to spend as much time with our family as possible.

Melanee just started kindergarten and is having a blast. Blaine just had his 2nd birthday party and is at such a fun age! Melanee is a wonderful big sister that helps me out tremendously (even when we're getting ready for school/work at 5:30 a.m.) She is a little scientist and loves anything to do with dinosaurs, animals, insects, etc. She wants to be a paleantologist, and she loves reading. She has helped Blaine learn a lot. He can already identify all the letters of the alphabet and is constatly pointing them out everywhere we go!

Rudy stays busy with work and hobbies like roping, fishing, and hunting. I have a great, fast-paced job as a middle school instructional facilitator. It definitely keeps me on my toes. I'm also currently going to school to get my principal certification. I love to hang out with my kids and my mom. She helps me so much! I love taking pictures of the kids. They grow up so fast, and I want to be sure and remember how they were at this age!!
